Hidden-away in twenty-two hectares of gardens and coffee plantation, Mesastila is located in Losari Village in Magelang, Central Java Indonesia, 1 hour away from Yogyakarta or Semarang.
Using antique joglos houses sourced from Central Java, all 24 villas are beautifully furnished with traditional Javanese décor and antiquities. With large balconies overlooking the spectacular views of Central Java, that only is enough to completely switch off and forget about the stresses of life for a brief moment.
Originally called the Losari Plantation Resort & Spa, it was owned by Italian hotelier called Gabriella Teggia. With her great sense of creativity and style, restored the run-down ex-Dutch colonial coffee plantation into a luxurious hideaway. When Gabriella passed away, it was taken over by an Indonesian hotel company called MesaStila.
Being a wellness boutique resort, the cuisine concept focuses on Javanese-fusion food with a healthy twist. Dishes are prepared using local and organic produce, using a lot of fish and vegetables. Meat is kept to a minimum and even if there is wine on the menu, the prices are pretty steep – I suppose for a very good reason.
Hammam & Spa
The Mesastila spa offers the finest therapies from Asia and the Near East. Originally from Turkey, the spa also has South East Asia’s only authentic hammam, where steam bathing combines functionality with decadent cleansing rituals.
Complimentary wifi throughout the hotel.
Breakfast is bountiful without feeling the guilt. Choosing from the breakfast menu, you can also enjoy a freshly made Jamu juice to to compliment your wellbeing program.
